Welcome Baby! March 7, 2009

Well, I don’t actually have a baby to welcome, but i have got a card ready to go should any of my friends have a baby girl any time in the near future! (hint hint, nudge nudge). I made this “Onesie” card (as they call it in America) using the instructions on Lauren Meader’s blog. I know lots of people have done their version of this card, but it’s so darn cute I had to do it too!  And it’s surprisingly easy to make. Check out Lauren’s instructions at http://laurenm.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2008/02/05/create-your-own-onesie-card-tutorial-and-important-note-please-read/

and why not have a go yourself. If you do make one, please send me a piccy so I can have a look.

For my card I used whisper white and rose red CS, rose red and pretty in pink ink, the scallop and circle punches, and the stamps were “short and sweet” and “in the spotlight” hostess set.

Thanks for looking

Ocean Commotion Make-and-takes February 7, 2009

What a great day I’ve had. I managed to go to the gym, walk the dog, wash the dog, take Mason to the park AND do some blogging. OMG. And I don’t even feel like I rushed around to do it all. The only thing missing is some stamping, so hopefully I’ll get to do some of that tonight and my day will be complete! Anyway, enough of that and onto some stamping stuff….

These are the projects I designed for the make-and-takes for some upcoming workshops (Hi Tracy and Kym!!). The first is a 6×6 scrapbook page for Tracy’s workshop, which opens up to reveal some hidden journaling behind.

p2070027

I then created a 12×12 page layout so our workshop guests can see how easily a 6×6 layout can be translated to 12×12, as most people would create pages of this larger size. The 6×6 page just gets stuck straight onto the 12×12.

p2070030

And this card is what I created for Kym’s workshop. Kym wanted me to demonstrate embossing, so I thought this was the ideal card, as I’ve used clear embossing powder to make the fishies look wet, and I’ve also used one of the new stamp sets from the Summer Mini.

p2070021

For these projects I used the following materials:

Cardstock- river rock, bashful blue, pumpkin pie, whisper white, pumpkin pie DSP

Inks- river rock, pumpkin pie, versamark, bashful blue

Punches- scalloped edge punch, circle punches, round tab punch

Stamp sets- Ocean Commotion, Eat Cake (for happy birthday sentiment), circle of frienship (for the sentiment inside the bubble on the card), big deal alphabet, simple serif mini alphabet (both alphabets used on scrap page).

Additional Materials- pumpkin pie marker, white gel pen, crystal effects, clear embossing powder, heat gun, silver hodgepodge,

If you’d like to make either of these projects, why not host your own workshop, and I’ll show you and a group of your friends some of these great techniques.

Thanks for looking, and enjoy your weekend!

 cute little zoo animal frames!

    p1100002        p1100004

These are some little pages I made to pop in some frames for Mason’s bedroom. You might recall that Mason’s bedroom theme is zoo animals, with the images from the “Wild About You” stamp set stamped around his walls like a frieze. He also has an animal quilt cover and a lion and turtle cushion. No wonder he calls it his “Jungle Bed”.  I think these little images finish his room off beautifully. I used:

  • Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise and Real Red cardstock
  • Pumpkin Pie and Certainly Celery Prints Designer Series Paper
  • Stampin’ Write Markers (Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie & Chocolate Chip)
  • Simple Serif Mini Alphabet
  • Silver Hodgepodge
  • Inkpads (Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Old Olive)
  • and a sponge around the edge of the stamped whisper white piece

New Recruit offer-

Right now is a prime time to sign up as a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator.  Here are some great reasons why:

·         To remain a Stampin’ Up demonstrator you only have to achieve $500 of sales per quarter. If you sign up in January you get an extension on the sales requirement until

·         New demonstrators have the opportunity to get an extra 10 percent instant income on their first order. That’s a whopping 30% off your first order!

·         Receive free publications such as the new catalogue which will be released in April, and the monthly “Impressions” magazine only available to demonstrators. These are full of inspirational samples and instructions so you’ll never run out of ideas.
