I have just re-read my last post and realised… I do have a baby to welcome, it should have read “no baby girls”. Some of our very good friends, Sheldon and Anna had a beautiful baby boy on 22nd Feb, and named him “Fletcher Mace Middleton”. So my apologies Fletcher… and welcome!!

Priceless Invitations October 4, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — sallymcnamara @ 10:18 pm

Hi there. As usual I’ve been a slack blogger! I’ve seen all of these “blog awards” getting around lately. I think I should get my own special award…. “The Slackest Blogger Award”. Yep, that sounds like me.

Anyway, I have returned to share with you some invitations I made recently for a friend who is turning 30. She is having a masquerade party which should be lots of fun. I went with basic black, lavendar lace, certainly celery and whisper white, to coordinate with her room decorations. You’ll notice the design is similar to the pocket tag invitations that I made for my son’s birthday invitations which I showed you a while back. Fiona liked this design so we decided to use that, and dress it up with the “Priceless” stamp set, brads, DSP, scallop punch and some dazzling diamonds. I also embossed the swirly image. I tried to use the whisper white craft ink, but it just didn’t look as good as the embossing, so 52 invitations later, I can safely say I’m over embossing for the moment!  The inside tag had black grosgrain ribbon attached to pull the tag out, and I added the details of the party using the invitation stamp from the “Eat Cake” stamp set. I haven’t taken a photo of the tag, so you will have to be happy with what I’ve got!

Overall I was very happy with these, and Fiona says she is too so that’s the main thing! I hope you like them too.

Baroque Wedding August 14, 2008

Here are some photos of the wedding invitations and placecards I made for my friend Carol recently. Nigel and Carol have been together for 18 years and finally decided to get married. Carol wore a stunning black Carla Zampatti dress, so I made the invitations using black and Very Vanilla, which I think are very striking together. The first photo shows the outside pocket which the envelope sits in. Carol and Nigel wanted to include the photo somewhere on the invite. This was a bit of a challenge to incorporate the photo, but I was quite happy with the outcome (and more importantly so were Nigel and Carol). I stamped the swirly image from the “Baroque Motifs” stamp set using Stazon ink for a nice even coverage. I filled in any patchy spots with my black journalling pen.

The second photo shows the invitation insert and the placecards. Once again stamped in Stazon. And for the finishing touch- some half back pearls in the centre of each flower.

I’d love to hear what you think of these so please leave me a comment! Thanks for looking.

Spring Mini Launch August 14, 2008

Hi everyone. Just thought I’d show you the projects we will be making at the “Spring Mini Catalogue Launch” next Friday night, 22nd August at 7:30pm at the Uniting Church Hall on Stenner Street. The cost is $15 to make the three projects below. Supper will be provided and there will be several prizes up for grabs.  There are still several spots available, so if you love these projects and want to come along please let me know or email me for more info.

I do apologise for the bad photos. For some reason I couldn’t get a clear shot… I’ll say it was the camera’s fault but we all know it’s more likely to be the person operating it! Anyway, as you can see we will be making 2 cards and a very cute fold-up photo wallet. All of these projects use products from the Spring Mini, including three new stamp sets: Always, One of a Kind and Season of Joy. Come and check it out on the night and make these to take home. Thanks for looking.
