 cute little zoo animal frames!

    p1100002        p1100004

These are some little pages I made to pop in some frames for Mason’s bedroom. You might recall that Mason’s bedroom theme is zoo animals, with the images from the “Wild About You” stamp set stamped around his walls like a frieze. He also has an animal quilt cover and a lion and turtle cushion. No wonder he calls it his “Jungle Bed”.  I think these little images finish his room off beautifully. I used:

  • Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise and Real Red cardstock
  • Pumpkin Pie and Certainly Celery Prints Designer Series Paper
  • Stampin’ Write Markers (Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie & Chocolate Chip)
  • Simple Serif Mini Alphabet
  • Silver Hodgepodge
  • Inkpads (Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Old Olive)
  • and a sponge around the edge of the stamped whisper white piece

Woo hoo, I’m very excited that I have had some stamping time and I’ve been able to make some projects for Christmas gift-giving/wrapping. I loved making these so much that I’ve chosen these for the make-and-take projects for my Christmas Extravaganza!

So here are the details:

Christmas Extravaganza

Sunday 14th December, 2pm

Come along and make a large gift box, a DVD slider gift box and 8 gift tags for $20 per person.

These projects can be easily replicated with supplies you have at home, so you can go away and make as many as you want (trust me, you’ll want to!). There will be a prize for everyone who attends. There are only 6 places so please let me know ASAP if you wish to come along (RSVP Thurs 11th at the latest). So don’t get ahead of yourself and wrap your chrissy presents just yet… hold off for a bit longer and check these out first! I hope you can make it along on the day.

This is the DVD slider box. As you can see, the DVD slides out of it’s case when you pull the ribbon. Pretty nifty huh? I got this idea from all the chocolate sliders I’ve seen out there (I think most recently it was on Marelle Taylor’s blog). I adapted this idea to come up with a template to fit a DVD. You could easily adapt this to fit any flatt-ish item like a CD or book.

And this is the large gift box. It is such an easy thing to make, and just uses a sheet each of 12×12 designer paper, and cardstock. I got the instructions for this one off Makeesha Byle’s blog- you should have a look. There are heaps of great projects with full instructions and photos.

If you’d like to make these fabulous projects, plus 8 gift tags of assorted designs, please register for this event by emailing me at sallymcnamara@bigpond.com

Thanks for looking!

Baby Shower Fun November 24, 2008

p1100850

I had a friend’s baby shower yesterday which I organised for her (hi Anna!). I made the invitations and coordinating book, party favours and gift card for her present. The colours I used were wild wasabi, bashful blue, night of navy and whisper white. I stuck with these colours for all of the projects, and used classic stars and the elephant from “wild about you”. Here are some more pics…

p1100862

This was the book I made for Anna. I’ve made two of these now and I think they add a nice touch to the baby shower. The tabs along the side were made using the Round Tab punch. I had several sections for people to write messages for the parents, for the baby, predictions of birthdate etc, and space for photos and keepsakes. If anyone would like one of these I am happy to make them to order.

The matching gift card. See the scalloping on the wild wasabi cardstock… this was made with a new punch from the summer mini catalogue- no more stuffing around with the corner rounder punch to do each scallop by hand! The scallop edge punch is so much easier. I love it!

The favour boxes which are so easy to make. They only use half an A4 piece of cardstock, wheeled with classic stars, score some lines, fold up and punch a hole for the ribbon. Voila! Inside were some starburst “crazy babies” lollies. I thought they were suitable for a baby shower!!
