NEW PRODUCT SAMPLES!! May 6, 2009

Here are some cards made using new stamps and in-colours.

p4240273p4180257

The beer image is from the “Cheers to you” stamp set and I’ve coloured it with markers and aqua painters. Please forgive my colouring outside the lines! I also used some “Good morning sunshine” DSP for these samples. The base card is Summer Sun layered with Chocolate Chip and the DSP. The scallop around the beer is Pacific Point, which was the same colour I used to ink up the “cheers to you” sentiment.

The second card is very similar but I used a base card of kiwi kiss layered with Summer Sun and the DSP.

I will have more samples to show you over the next few days, as well as 2 very exciting special offers for the month of May, so stay tuned!

A christening card April 16, 2009

Hi again… 3 posts in one day, I’m on a roll!

p4160242

Here is a Christening card I made for a special little boy in our life- little Fletcher who you can see if you scroll back a ew posts. I got the idea for this card from a card on Sarah Klass’ blog. To get the cross image firstly I  made up a reverse mask by cutting a cross out of a piece of cardstock using my paper cutter. I positioned the mask over the vanilla cardstock, and then I rolled the so swirly wheel over it in certainly celery, and being careful not to move the mask, I sponged it with bashful blue ink, leaving behind the cross image. I jazzed it up with a bit of dazzling diamonds by going over the swirls with the 2-way glue pen, and sprinkling the glitter over the top, then dusting off the excess. The sentiment is “best wishes” from the short and sweet set punched out the oval punch. I also wheeled so swirly all over the base card, and used some certainly celery ribbon, another ribbon from my pre-stampin up stash and some hodgepodge. I’m quite happy with the end result.

Elite Challenge SC20 April 16, 2009

I thought I’d play along with the sketch challenge on the Elite Stampers website. This is my creation:

p4160238

I have to say this is my favourite colour combo at the moment… chocolate chip, pumpkin pie and rose red. Stamps used were baroque motifs and wonderful favourites. I had some of the square chocolate chip envelopes left over from the carousel notes pack, and needed to make a wedding card for a workmate which is big enough for all of us to sign. And hence this little beauty was born. Being a wedding card, I wanted to add a bit of bling, so I’ve clear embossed the swirly image. I also stamped and clear embossed the flower image onto rose red cardstock, and punched out with the scallop punch. I then layered this onto a pumpkin pie die-cut flower that I paper-pierced around the edges. I secured the two together with a fancy lil silver brad from the hodgepodge hardware. It’s hard to see in the photo, but the brad has a flower image on it, with a flat part in the centre, so I blinged it up with a few drops of crystal effects and sprinkled dazzling diamonds over it while it was still wet. I adhered the flower to the card with a stampin dimensional to pop it up a bit. Add some  ribbon, the sentiment and the scallop edge and voila! I love this card. I think it’s very pretty, even if I do say so myself. Please tell me what you think…

Some scrappin’ March 11, 2009

Hi there. Just wanted to share with you some scrapbook pages that I’ve achieved recently. I say achieved because it is a mammoth effort for me to get any scrapbooking done these days, so when I do it feels like a major achievement!

p1100012 p1100015

For the first page I used some carousel notes (from the summer mini) for the tree, and cut a trunk free-hand. I stamped the trunk with the textured stamp from the soon to be retired hostess set “Oh so Lovely”. The little “be happy” was from another hostess set “so many sayings”  which is also retiring. The birdie was from the “Always” set which was in the spring mini. I hope this set makes it into the main catalogue cos I do love it so! The title was done using big deal  alphabet, and simple serif mini. As you can see I did some journalling inside the “O” by stamping the memo stamp set from “office accoutrement” (also retiring), punching this out with a circle punch, adding the handwritten details and sticking it to the O. I also used some anchored rubons (retiring too!) and silver hodgepodge to finish it off. The colours were wild wasabi, chocolate chip, bashful blue and ruby red. Wow I didn’t realise how much was retiring until now!

p1100023 p1100024

For the second page I started with a Basic Gray textured CS. I wheeled the classic stars wheel in night of navy over some whisper white cs, and stuck this down. I then inked the star wheel up straight from my so saffron inkpad and wheeled again over some whisper white. I cut out some individual saffron stars and stuck these over the navy ones with some stampin dimensionals. For the film strip I used the double rectangle punch along both of the so saffron cs, and mounted this to a strip of night of navy. The “original” is from the ”office accoutrement” set and so is the memo stamp. Plus some more anchored rubons and big deal alpha again for the title. I had been wanting to the ”film strip” effect for ages, and thought this little photo shoot was perfect for it!

Hope you like. Please feel free to leave a comment :)

I have just re-read my last post and realised… I do have a baby to welcome, it should have read “no baby girls”. Some of our very good friends, Sheldon and Anna had a beautiful baby boy on 22nd Feb, and named him “Fletcher Mace Middleton”. So my apologies Fletcher… and welcome!!

Here he is at 3 days old. What a cutie!! Congratulations guys. We think Fletcher is just gorgeous.
